Nishkala Sekhar has worked on documenting the neighbourhood history of residential Malkajgiri and sewerage/stormwater infrastructure in the context of floods in Qutbullapur neighbourhood of Hyderabad. She has also engaged with policy matters such as judicial reforms, reservations, internal party democracy.
She holds an M.A in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Her Master’s thesis explored the trajectory of Basthi Vikas Manch, a community body organization, as a means to understand how urban grassroots activism is practised today.
She holds a B.E (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani.
