Description
The Chief Minister's Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) is a comprehensive five-year development initiative, launched in FY 2016-17, aimed at boosting agricultural growth and doubling farmer incomes in Assam by FY 2021-22. To ensure effective implementation, the Government of Assam has established a Mega Mission Society. Acknowledging the need for more impactful interventions and to accelerate agricultural development, the government has introduced several sub-missions under CMSGUY.
CGG was entrusted the work of third-party impact evaluation of various schemes under the MMS-CMSGUY. As part of this evaluation, CGG conducted a comprehensive assessment of 12 key schemes implemented under CMSGUY. The evaluation focused on critical areas such as farm mechanization, livelihood promotion, milk production enhancement, assured minimum support prices for farmers, expansion of rice milling capacity, public health improvements through rice fortification, and soil and water conservation. By analyzing the effectiveness and impact of these initiatives, CGG has provided scheme-wise recommendations to optimize implementation strategies and enhance the program’s overall efficiency.
