Kalyan Kumar Kandas joined the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) in April 2025 as Associate Director (HR & Legal). He holds a postgraduate degree in Law (LL.M.) from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Laws (PGDCL) from Hyderabad Central University, Gachibowli.
He began his career in the Police Department in 1991 and served in various capacities throughout his tenure. He was actively involved in maintaining law and order, serving at multiple Traffic Police Stations and the Central Crime Station (CCS) of Hyderabad City Police. As an investigation officer, he was instrumental in uncovering several significant economic offenses, particularly tax evasion and other financial frauds, thereby safeguarding government revenues.
During his tenure with the Vigilance and Enforcement Wing under the General Administration Department of the erstwhile unified state of Andhra Pradesh, his exemplary service earned him several recognitions. Both the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana honored him with Seva Pathakkam and Uttama Seva Pathakkam for his contributions.
He retired as a Deputy Superintendent of Police from the Crime Investigation Department (CID), the premier investigative agency of the Telangana Police. Prior to joining CGG, he was also practicing as an advocate at the High Court of Telangana.
