
The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) was established in October 2001 by then The Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) in collaboration with the Department for International Development (DFID) and the World Bank to help it achieve the State's goal of Transforming Governance. Consequent on formation of new Telangana State from 2nd June 2014 as per the provisions of A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014, CGG, which was registered as a Society on 26-05-2003 under the provisions of A.P. Societies Registration Act, 2001, is deemed to have been registered under the A.P. Societies Registration Act, (Telangana Adaptation) Order,2014 as per G.O.Ms.No.20, (Revenue (REGN-II) Department, dated 18-08-2014 read with G.O.Ms.No.38, Revenue (REGN.II) Department dated 01-11-2014 of GoTG.
CGG has completed 25 years of dedicated service in promoting good governance and transforming public administration. From its early mandate of supporting key sectors and regions in governance reform, CGG has evolved into a nationally recognized institution with expertise spanning policy formulation, programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, e-Governance services, business process re-engineering, and embedding emerging technologies for delivering measurable governance outcomes and sustainable public sector reforms.
