Mentor – Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP)
Location of Deployment – Boath/ Palakurthy/ Alampur/ Yellareddy/ Chilpichedu/ Bodhan/ Veeranapally/Kothakota/ Kamalapur/ Mothkur/Meetpalli/ Hanwada
Role Overview:
The Mentor under SVEP is a technical and managerial functionary responsible for ensuring implementation of enterprise promotion activities. The Mentor provides strategic guidance, supervision and capacity building support to District Technical Experts, Block Technical Experts and Community Resource Persons – Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EPs), to ensure viability and scalability of supported enterprises.
The Mentor plays a critical role in ensuring that enterprises supported under SVEP achieve financial sustainability, meet revenue benchmarks and contribute to rural economic development.
Mode of Employment:
- Fixed tenure contractual position with consolidated pay. Initially for a period of One year (extendable based on performance and project duration).
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post Graduate Degree / Professional Graduation in any discipline with relevant experience.
- Educational qualification shall be relaxed in case of experienced community professionals with proven capability and performance in working with large poverty elimination programmes.
- Strong understanding of micro-enterprise development and rural livelihoods.
- Hands on experience in financial modelling using tools such as MS-Excel
Desirable:
- Certification in entrepreneurship development
- Exposure to MSME sector
- Knowledge of financial management and MIS systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the block and nearby areas.
- Willingness to stay in villages for 15–20 days per month as required.
- Proficiency in Telugu language and basic computer skills for MIS reporting.
Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
- Enterprise promotion
- Rural Entrepreneurship/livelihoods programmes
- Microfinance / SHG-based initiatives
- Market linkage development
- Experience in preparing and reviewing business plans, feasibility reports, detailed study reports
- Experience in supporting Non-farm related manufacturing enterprises.
- Experience of working with banks and facilitating credit linkages.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Enterprise Development
- Review and validate business plans prior to onward submission.
- Carryout feasibility study to assess financial viability and ensure integration of risk mitigation measures.
- Facilitate promote scalable and manufacturing enterprises
- Facilitate access to markets, branding, packaging, and value addition.
- Support enterprises in achieving revenue and aspirational income benchmarks.

Financial Oversight and CEF Management
- Ensure adherence to equity standards of lending integration into project reports.
- Track loan repayment performance and reduce NPAs.
- Facilitate bank linkages and formal financial access (minimum 10% target).

Supporting Community Resource Persons – Enterprise Promotion (CRP- EPs)
- Support CRP-EPs preparation of the Project Reports and develop financial models
- Provide mentoring support to the CRP-EPs, enterprises, individual as well as groups to ensure financial sustainability.
- Facilitate regular review meetings and compliance with audit norms.

Market Linkages and Convergence
- Facilitate collective procurement and collective marketing initiatives.
- Facilitate forward and backward linkages across value chains.
- Support in Packing, Branding, compliances etc.
- Promote convergence with MSME schemes and other government initiatives.
- Support onboarding of enterprises on e-commerce platforms.

Monitoring, MIS and Reporting
- Ensure use of SVEP MIS/software for: Business planning, Performance tracking, Loan tracking, Reporting.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) at enterprise, CRP-EP and District Resource centres.
- Submit periodic reports to State PM (SVEP) and SRLM.
- Assist in baseline studies and DPR updates where required.

Performance Expectations
- Timely rollout of SVEP activities.
- Achievement of enterprise and inclusion targets.
- Improved enterprise turnover and profitability.
- Ensure sustainability and scaling up of the enterprises

Administrative & Coordination Support:
- Work closely with other specialists of the SVEP – PMU, CRP-EPs, District teams and thematic experts in designing and monitoring initiatives.
- Preparation of Annual Action Plans (AAPs), review reports and policy briefs.
- Represent the program in various district forums, industry conclaves and knowledge-sharing events.
- Strategize for awareness generation regarding SVEP programme.
- Remuneration: Consolidated pay of ₹35,000/- – ₹50,000/- per month (commensurate with qualification and experience)
