Project Brief:

CGG’s Online Hostel Monitoring System is a web application which brings e-governance in all aspects of hostel administration for hostels under the ambit of social/tribal welfare development organizations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The data related to the strength of students/boarders and staff in each hostel,bio-metric attendance of boarders, academic performance of boarders, health check-ups conducted in each hostel, amenities in the hostels, purchases and all other issues are being monitored online. All Hostel Bills namely Diet related, Cosmetics, Rents, Wages, Other Office Expenses, Treasury Bills and Tutors honorarium are drawn online

The functional scope of this web application can be seen in the Figure given below:

While the Government hostel students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh can access information related to Welfare hostels and facilities available, the Hostel Management and Department of School Education can monitor their end to end performance.

Benefits/uses of the application:

Earlier inflated number of hostel students and staff, false claims to garner higher amounts under various heads from diet charges, cosmetics and salary payments to rentals on hired accommodation were some of the many ways the welfare funds are pilfered.CGG’s Hostel Monitoring System helps in avoiding misuse of funds and irregularities and brings transparency and accountability to the management of hostels.
