Description
Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society Ltd. (APSHWCS) has approached Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad for revamping APSHWCS. A comprehensive study, covering the key functions of Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society Ltd. (APSHWCS) has been carried out. Detailed analysis of the processes being followed in the key functions of the organization – procurement; sales and marketing, both retail and institutional; Enterprise Resource Planning etc have been made. Recommendations made to address the gaps identified include process streamlining and infusion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in procurement; complete revamp of the marketing mix (the 4Ps- Product, Price, Promotion and Place); enhanced use of ERP to cover great number of functions as well as great number of reports across the functions; With reference to the business model, detailed financial analysis has been carried out to explore the viability of introducing franchisee model to own and operate the APCO outlets; in addition, the study covered the analysis of the organizational structure, the roles and responsibilities of various cadres of officers and staff and has suggested norms for structural reorganization.
